Low Impact Design or 'LID' is an approach to construction and development that realigns urban stormwater management with natural processes. Increasing the permeability of hardscapes, creating functional and naturalistic site drainage and reusing stormwater as a functional element in landscapes instead of as a waste product all serve these design goals.
